**Purpose of role**:
Babcock is contracted to deliver over 200 different types of training courses to the London Fire Brigade totalling some 4,000 individual classes each year.

The Planning Analyst will develop an annual delivery plan for all courses taking account of delegate eligibility, station release, course interdependencies and client specific requirements.

The Planning Analyst will develop a training delivery schedule in line with the proposed training delivery plan, such that the clients training requirements can be achieved.

The Planning Analyst will monitor the delivery schedule against resource availability to ensure that sufficient resilience is maintained at all times taking account of planned resource down time.

The Planning Analyst will work closely with the Resource Optimisation Planner and adjust the delivery schedule where required to support optimal resource utilisation with resilience maintained at all times.

**Key tasks**:

- Under the guidance of the Senior Planning Analyst, develop an annual training delivery plan that will address the client’s specific scheduling requirement.
- Develop a training delivery schedule in line with the proposed training delivery plan, making optimum use of resource.
- Highlight instances where the proposed delivery plan cannot be supported by resource availability, working with the Resource Optimisation Planner and Delivery team to resolve.
- Work closely with course design to address the impact of introducing new courses, scheduling pilots and impact of any course redesign.
- To work closely with the Resource Optimisation Planner and training managers to ensure the schedule developed, is achievable.
- Responsible for class reschedules, ensuring they addressed within contractually required time frames to reduce Babcock KPI’s.
- Administration of course cancellations ensuring appropriate processes followed.
- To identify efficiencies that can be introduced by reviewing existing schedule development processes aimed at optimising schedule development.
- Regular assurance of the scheduling tool such that the generated delivery schedule accurately reflects the agreed course delivery format.
- Deputise for the Senior Planning Analyst at meetings when required.
- Undertake other planning tasks as and when required.
