We are looking for a hard working and enthusiastic support worker to join our expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about a career in social care who wants to gain valuable hands-on experience and enhance their skillset. As a support worker, you will support people to achieve their ambitions and live as independent a life as possible both at home and in the community.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Provide support that positively impacts the person we support’s health and wellbeing
- Contribute and implement support plans
- Be accountable for the delivery of all support and its administration, including personal care, tenancy support, health needs including assistance with medication, intensive housing management (if appropriate), personal development, emotional needs and inclusion.

**Desired Skills and Attributes**:

- Scottish Vocational Qualifications are desired but not essential for this role
- Empathetic and Patient
- Compassionate
- The ability to understand and follow policies and procedures

It is with YOU’s policy to encourage our staff and their own personal development. With YOU will support you in line with requirements of the job. Training will be provided to help you excel in your role. We also offer funded Scottish Vocational Qualifications.

Shift work, weekend work and sleepovers may be a requirement of this role. Flexible working arrangements are also available.

PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are requirements of this post.

**The Service**:
We offer a range of support across Midlothian through our Midlothian Temporary accommodation partnership. We provide a range of service models including, Housing First and Tenancy Support with support being provided in people’s homes.

We have various temporary accommodations across Midlothian that provide support for individuals, families’ and young people. We encourage engagement to support people to develop life skills and decision-making capabilities to become active and engaged in their communities.
