with YOU Tenancy Support Services across Midlothian are recruiting experienced Support Workers to join the team. This is a fast paced, challenging but ultimately rewarding role.

As a Tenancy Support Worker, you’ll provide tenancy support services helping individual who are referred by the local authority, to set up and sustain their tenancies and live independently. You will support individuals most at risk of losing their tenancy due to financial issues, tenancy management and anti-social behaviour.

Key to the role will be the ability to provide support that promotes independent living, empowers individuals to address barriers and working in partnership with other agencies to maximise the success of Individuals.

The people you will be supporting are vulnerable and have complex issues, therefore we are looking for highly motivated staff with excellent communication skills, who can deal with a challenging situation should it arise. You will provide flexible, person centred 1-1 support and advice. The role will predominantly be lone working with individuals in the local community.

What we need from you:

- Support individuals to be empowered and take control of their own lives.
- A working knowledge of homelessness and the associated issues.
- Have use of your own transport (business insurance required) or have the ability to travel freely on public transport.
- The ability to work varied shifts on a rota basis including early, mid, late and weekends.

What you will need:

- 6 months experience in the last year.
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts.
- Passionate about improving the life of others.
- Relevant social care qualification and training certificates.
