This post is initially for 12 months (fixed term).
Advertised is a full time position, working 37 hours per week.
We have a fantastic opportunity available to join a dynamic, office-based team, supporting our community by ensuring supported accommodation services and systems are appropriately configured and effectively meet individual need.
Working within the Joint Strategic Commissioning division of Pembrokeshire County Council, you will be responsible for developing systems and processes which ensure the necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate good quality supported accommodation services.
You will work closely with individuals, care and support providers, assessment and case management and other stakeholders to ensure individuals have a choice from a range of supported accommodation services and to facilitate the arrangements associated with occupancy.
Ideally with a basic understanding of housing/ tenancy law, you will be an organised, financially astute individual who will be competent in the design and implementation of systems and processes.
Note that whilst the position of Commissioning and Contract Management Officer is an established one within the team, this appointment will carry a significant development focus within its first 12 months.
You will also be responsible for organising and maintaining records for services so experience in adhering to process and process design alongside effective administration skills will be invaluable. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is IT literacy with confidence in utilising a range of software systems. Good financial, analytical and problem solving skills are also required in this role.
While knowledge of the commissioning cycle and social services legislation are strongly favoured, we would welcome individuals from a range of backgrounds to this role.
Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council. We aim to support vulnerable children and adults at risk to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We are committed to ensuring their safety and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.
This policy applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and also service providers that are commissioned by the Council. Safeguarding is everyone's business whether they work for, or on behalf of the Council.
