The post holder will be expected to observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions and timeframes specified by managers.

We are looking for a multi-skilled general handy-person able to work without strict supervision and on own initiative to ensure effective prioritization of workload.

**Skills include**:
Joinery - maintenance of all fixtures and fittings.
Plumbing - un-blocking sinks, traps and waste pipes, tracing and repairing leaks etc.
Heating - ensure all boilers / radiators are working efficiently.
Painting and decorating including replacing grouting etc.
Light fittings -cleaning and replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes,
bulbs etc in accordance with safe working practices.
Kitchen appliances - basic problem resolution.
Flooring - replacement of carpets, carpet tiles and linoleum as required.

Garden - Maintain driveways and gardens.
Security - replacement of locks as required.

**Responsibilities include**:
Updating maintenance system with work completed and keeping all other maintenance related records (Fire File, Meter readings, Monthly checks on extinguishers and fire blankets, emergency lights, PAT testing, water hygiene etc) in strict order.

Contributing to the planning and organisation of maintenance works both reactive
and preventative.
Liaising effectively with management to execute planned
actions.
Sourcing materials that may be required following our procurement procedures,
ensuring costs are managed effectively.
Liaising with external contractors where required.
Keeping an inventory of Maintenance equipment and parts and keeping working
areas organised, tidy and secure.

It is important to note that the above list is not exhaustive but only indicative of the general handy-person duties you will be required to undertake. It is also essential that all members of staff are prepared to take on additional duties in order to maintain efficient running of the homes.

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour
