Day Service Support Worker

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. To assist the Team Manager in delivering programmes to the people we support. Providing general support in relation to the needs of the individuals of the group, their health and wellbeing, safety and promote a safe and welcoming environment.
From time to time there may be a requirement to be flexible in location within the services throughout Aberdeenshire, as well as some evening / weekend work on a rota basis.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and Charity.
**Duties**
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
**1.**To act support for individuals in accordance with Grampian Opportunities Person Centred Outcome focused approach.
**2.**To provide individual support, where required over the course of the day
**3.**To assist people with practical input and support in specific areas/ activities
**4.**To assist the team manager, as part of the team, in the planning, delivery and review of activities
**5.**Encourage an inclusive environment
**6.**To always act in a professional manner in accordance with Grampian Opportunities policies and procedures.
**7.**Ensure adherence to the individuals reviewed plans and outcomes as well as any contractual obligations of any service level agreement.
**8.**To accurately record your work using the specified systems and procedures.
**9.**To ensure you are up to date with, and adhere to new policies and procedures.
**10.**To report promptly to the Team Manager any matter affecting the wellbeing of any person.
**11.**To implement behaviour management guidelines in a consistent manner, if required and as directed
**12.**Observe, monitor and record the individuals and their physical and emotional wellbeing, and promptly report any changes to the Team Manager.

**Experience**
**Essential**
Knowledge and experience of engagement with adults who have; Learning disabilities; long term conditions; autism; mental health challenges
Desirable
Previous experience of delivering group work with adults who have Learning disabilities; long term conditions; autism; mental health challenges
**Knowledge and skills**
**Essential**
A keen interest in adults with additional support needs
Display ability and commitment to undertake initial training and subsequent staff development as required
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to work as part of a team or work on own initiative
Excellent communication skills
Flexible and adaptable approach and have a patient, fair, courteous and non-confrontational manner in dealing with the individuals we support
Ability to respect confidentiality
Able to adopt a mature approach to emotionally demanding work
Be computer literate / office 365
**Desirable**
Working knowledge of adults with ASN
Working knowledge of care standards and vulnerable adults legislation
**Additional requirements**
**Essential**
Able to work evenings and weekends as required. (on a rota basis)

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £7,619.04-£19,047.60 per year
Expected hours: 12 - 30 per week
