Inspire has been supporting adults with learning disabilities in Peterhead since 1991 and today we operate two established services within the town.

We are now seeking the right new team members to help the local people we support continue to get the most out of life and play a full and active role within their community.

We currently have temporary vacancies for Support Workers for both of our residential services in Peterhead, where we enable 12 people - nine men and three women, ranging in age from their mid 20’s to early 70’s - to live at home with appropriate levels of support.

The role of a Support Worker is extremely varied and in Peterhead the people we support have a broad range of interests including going to the football, baking, crochet and crafts, enjoying walks or trips on the bus and attending concerts and going to the cinema - no two days at work are truly ever the same

The people currently supported by Inspire in Peterhead also have a mixture of communication levels and physical capabilities, which adds further to the variety of the role.

Although our work can be challenging it is also immensely rewarding as Support Workers play a vital role in developing and maintaining the important life skills and encouraging the participation and integration required for the people we support to flourish and live the life that they want.

As a Support Worker you will participate in household tasks, including cleaning, cooking, ironing and washing while encouraging the people we support to join in. You will also accompany people on outings to the shops, or to attend social events, and help with the administration of medication and maintaining people’s dignity through the provision of quality personal care, depending on individual needs.

Permanent Inspire Support Workers receive up to £10.61 an hour - with a sleepover rate of £84; there is a competitive sick pay entitlement, generous life assurance policy, company pension contribution, the option to buy and sell annual leave and a £200 Refer a Friend scheme.
