ELFT are looking for a dynamic PSIRF Implementation Lead who will lead and support the national and local implementation of the PSIRF alongside Quality Improvement colleagues following Qi Methodologies including PDSA cycles.

PSIRF supports the three strategic aims of the national patient safety strategy of improving understanding of safety (insight), equipping patients, staff and partners with the skills and opportunities to improve patient safety (involvement) and designing and supporting programmes that deliver effective and sustainable change (improvement).to deliver the requirements for the framework, tracking and reporting progress following robust project management methodology.

The PSIRF Implementation Lead will lead and support the local implementation of the NHS patient safety strategy and response framework which supports the three strategic aims of improving understanding of safety (insight), equipping patients, staff and partners with the skills and opportunities to improve patient safety (involvement) and designing and supporting programmes that deliver effective and sustainable change (improvement).

The postholder will ensure the strategy is aligned with the national programme and liaise with trusts first adopters of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework to learn from their experience and adapt our plan where required.
The postholder is responsible for delivering the existing workstreams, directing and advancing their progress. The PSIRF Implementation Lead will also identify new areas, establishing the relevant project governance to drive the successful implementation of the PSIRF within the Trust against the core ELFT Values detailed in our Mission;

Ensure the organisation has a robust and effective patient safety strategy in place which aligns with the NHS patient safety

Project management of the implementation of the NHS patient safety strategy within the organisation.

Provide patient safety expertise within the organisation; demonstrating compassionate leadership, visibility and engagement for development of the requirements for the trust to meet the national patient safety strategy.

Ensure mechanisms/policies are in place so that insights lead to actionable recommendations/improvements that can be evidenced, measured and monitored across the organisation from all internal and external organisational reviews, high level enquiries and reports relating to patient safety.

Ensure patient safety improvement programmes are aligned to the NHS patient safety strategy.

Work with and influence Directorates to complete safety culture assessments
