Patient Safety Investigator

**We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Safety Investigator to join our Quality Governance Team at The London Clinic. This role is a based in our Head Office in Central London (NW1 4LJ), and we are offering a competitive salary of £48,998 - £57,063 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.**

**Job Profile**

Reporting into the Head of Patient Safety, the Patient Safety Investigator is responsible for promoting quality improvement and patient safety across The London Clinic. You will support the Head of Patient Safety in ensuring that patients have the best possible quality and safety outcomes.
- Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday.
- Salary: £48,998 - £57,063 per annum, depending on skills & experience.
- Location: Head Office - 1 Park Square West, London, NW1 4LJ (Baker Street/Regents Park stations)

**Key Duties**
- Support the Head of Patient Safety in ensuring patient safety processes are robust, and acting early-on to identify patient safety issues and review for regulatory requirements.
- Working with the Head of Patient Safety to ensure preparedness for implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and continuing to monitor PSIRFs developmental roll out.
- Using expertise and knowledge to coordinate and fully engage and support investigators to compile a robust investigation, looking at all areas of the incident, encouraging learning opportunities, change to process, mitigating the risk and importantly ensuring the organisation is maximising on when things go right.
- Acting as an advocate for the patient and the family on all safety issues, as well as working alongside the Patient Experience and Engagement team to maximise opportunity to include patients both in the early stages of the investigation, and throughout the course of it.
- Deputise for the Head of Patient Safety when required and appropriate, as well as actively support the Patient Safety Strategy and Vision.

**Skills & Experience**
- Experience working within a governance or patient safety role, within a clinical setting including the management of Datix incidents and events.
- Experience of driving patient safety and the associated strategies.
- Patient / user involvement experience as well as experience of CQC inspection regimes would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to collate essential data to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, confident and articulate individual with a professional approach, and excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
