We are looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher to contribute to and lead interdisciplinary studies on cardiovascular immunology in hypertension and atherosclerosis as part of an international team funded by the British Heart Foundation, the European Research Council and the University of Edinburgh.

**The Opportunity**:
You will be able to contribute to the management and publishing of work funded by the British Heart Foundation, which is positioned to understand and exploit the inflammatory mechanisms of hypertension, atherosclerosis and associated target organ damage with a particular focus on vascular mechanisms. This will involve analysis of cytokine expression and release, immune cells and their function in vascular remodelling regeneration in hypertension and manipulating their functions and assessing therapeutic gain in models of disease. Key immunology, molecular biology and genetic approaches will be undertaken. Studies will encompass translational aspects by looking in hypertensive and atherosclerotic patient populations.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- High motivation to address important scientific questions
- Appropriate degree, with relevant post-graduate research experience and accumulated knowledge; A PhD or thesis submitted/in preparation
- Expertise in models of hypertension
- Expertise in immunological methods including FACs analysis
- Good understanding of vascular biology
