Role and Responsibilities
The programme
We recognise that people are our core asset and are central to Samsung’s success as a business. Join us in the People Team and you'll work towards a Level 3 Human Resources Assistant; advanced apprenticeship, gaining a CIPD Foundation Certificate in HR Practice as part of your apprenticeship. On successful completion you'll have the opportunity to progress onto a Higher HR Apprenticeship and could gain a professional qualification in CIPD Level 5 and above.
The role
As our People Team Apprentice joining the SEUK People team for a 4 year period, you will be able to gain a key understanding in to our key teams within this department. You will have the opportunity to gain a real ‘hands on’ experience and the opportunity to make a real change in regards to how we do things and how we support both the SEUK & EO business.
This role is rotational, supporting our four key teams within the department:
- Recruitment- Talent- Reward- Business Partnering
Recruitment
Talent
Over the Talent rotation you will gain insight, understanding and jobs skills in the following areas:
- Talent management, the annual cycle and processes, data management and how they inform outcomes- Talent programme management, you will learn how development programmes are successfully co-ordinated and assist in this activity.- Resource management, you will learn how we manage the learning resources we provide.- Facilitation, you will learn best practice in delivery skills and have an opportunity to co-deliver development workshops.- Reporting, you will support administrative report task on an adhoc basis.- Shadowing, there will be an opportunity to shadow the team to understand their roles in more depth.
Reward
This rotation will provide you with an insight and understanding of the following areas:
- The annual compensation cycle of pay review for both the UK & Ireland (formatting and collating data in Excel), external benchmarking of all roles and submission of the salary surveys.- The annual benefits renewal window, investigating new benefits, creating communications best suited to engage with the business.- Projects including salary bandings, pensions and benefit promotion activities, working with the wider People Team to deliver these key milestones in our calendar.- Data analysis; reporting both internally and externally.- Health & Wellbeing activities.- Gathering and collating internal feedback and participate in external activities to continue to develop and improve the Reward offering.
Business Partnering
This rotation will spend dedicated time with the People Business Partner team to understand the front facing business insights and day to day aspects of HR. This role will enable you to gain insight into the different commercial operations of the business, and how HR support and drive the business through organisational design, development and effectiveness. The role will support the HRBPs run programmes including restructures, change management initiatives, cross-functional alignment and building the HR strategy through strategic People Plans.
Skills and Qualifications
Required qualifications and skills:
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths- Provide Evidence of eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the programme- Good with numbers, Confident working with data- Good attention to detail- Strong MS Excel skills- Be proactive about getting involved in all areas of Reward- To be able to start September 2025
