**Purpose of Role**

The HR & Governance Officer will play a vital role in providing administrative support to the HR and Governance functions, ensuring the efficient operation of organisational committees, meetings, and governance activities.

This role will oversee HR systems, support recruitment and hiring processes, and ensure compliance with the safer recruitment process.

To ensure the successful execution of key operational plans, this position will be central to maintaining schedules, preparing documentation, and supporting cross-functional initiatives across the organisation. Flexibility in deployment will be crucial, as the role requires adapting to various tasks and priorities to meet the dynamic needs of the organisation.

**Key Accountabilities**

General HR Administration:

- Support with administrative HR tasks, such as record-keeping, policy updates, and employee lifecycle documentation.
- Manage and maintain HR systems, ensuring employee data is accurate, secure, and up to date.
- Track and manage employee leave and absences in line with organisational policies, ensuring accurate recording in HR systems.
- Support the rollout and updates of HR policies
- Ensure compliance with organisational HR standards and employment regulations.
- Provide HR data and reports for analysis and decision-making.
- Serve as the first point of contact for system-related queries, offering support and resolving issues promptly.

Meeting and Event Coordination:

- Support planning and organising of team meetings and events, including diarising, agenda creation, and logístical arrangements.
- Ensure seamless execution of organisational meetings and events by coordinating with stakeholders.

Governance Administration:

- Provide support for Basketball England’s governance framework by maintaining schedules for board meetings and subcommittees.
- Ensure all governance actions and documentation are accurate and completed within agreed time.
- Support governance team with communication and coordination between board members and subcommittees.
- Attend Sub-Committee meetings, taking accurate minutes and distribute promptly after the meetings

Recruitment and Safer Recruitment Process:

- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with the organisation’s safer recruitment policies.
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment processes and support onboarding for new hires.

Cross-Functional Administrative Support:

- Provide flexible and proactive administrative support across various functions of the organization, adapting to dynamic priorities.

Clinical Governance Support:

- Assist in the administration of clinical governance activities.
- Support the maintenance and updating of records related to clinical governance.

Communication and Reporting:

- Share key updates and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Other Duties:

- Undertake additional tasks as required by the HR and Governance team.

**Person Specification**

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Qualifications/Experience:

- Relevant administrative experience or qualifications in HR or governance-related fields (or equivalent work experience).
- A keen interest in HR and governance, with a willingness to develop further in these areas.

Skills and Experience (essential):

- Demonstrable experience in administrative roles, particularly in HR or governance functions.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and scheduling tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively across departments.

Skills and Experience (desirable):

- Experience using HR systems to manage employee data, leave, and absence tracking.
- Familiarity with meeting preparation, minute-taking, and record maintenance. (desirable but not essential)

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- A flexible attitude to working, with the ability to adapt to organisational needs.

- A flexible attitude towards working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Pay: From £24,500.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
