This role is part of our Facilities Management Sector at Mitie, where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK by creating productive, safe, and dynamic working environments. We have an opportunity for a Workplace Operative to join our team on a permanent contract based in Bristol. Weekend work is also available at additional rates.
Your main duties will include carrying out Front of House services, general porterage, maintenance work, and cleaning duties as required by the Site Manager or their representative. Front of House responsibilities will involve directing staff to locations, handing out and receiving passes and keys. Maintenance duties will include assisting the maintenance team with minor internal issues such as clearing blocked drains, toilets, and sinks, replacing defective lightbulbs, basic plumbing, painting, and decorating. Portering duties will involve setting up rooms for the business day, including arranging furniture and IT equipment, as well as mail collection and delivery services. You will also assist the current cleaning team when required, covering for sickness and holidays.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate previous experience as a handy person and has experience in basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, fabric, and electrical work. Experience in a customer-facing environment is essential, as is the ability to work in a demanding and busy environment. Basic computer skills and strong communication skills are also required.
Please note that this role will require you to undergo a high Security Clearance, which must be completed before starting.
