Swarthdale Nursing Home is a privately owned, spacious period residence situated in the historic market town of Ulverston, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

The home provides care and support for residents with a variety of needs including residential care, nursing care and EMI dementia care. It caters for long-term, short-term and respite care.

The home has a dedicated team of motivated and professional staff committed to providing high-quality and person-centred care.

It has a happy and informal atmosphere in which the unique individuality of clients is respected. Its ethos maintains dignity, support and encourages independence and choice, whilst ensuring safety, comfort and care.

**Person Specification**
- You will be engaging, compassionate, caring, empathetic and respectful to the residents, families, health professionals and colleagues
- You will pride yourself in delivering outstanding care and setting good examples for everyone
- You will have good communication skills
- You will be reliable, flexible, motivated and be effective at working under pressure
- You will need to work well as part of a team and using your own initiative
- You will be able to follow instructions and directions
- You will have good IT skills and confidence in using a computer
- Most importantly you must be passionate about what you do with a commitment to putting our residents first
- You will contribute to the high-quality Nursing Care of our residents
- You will be responsible for maintaining the welfare and safety of the residents
- You will provide individualised, person centred care to meet the needs, aspirations and well being of the residents
- You will be able to enhance the psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing of our residents
- You will maintain the nutritional/hydration needs of the residents
- You will maintain and improve the pressure area care of our residents
- You will communicate effectively with relatives and health professionals, such as GP, Social Worker, SALT, Physiotherapists etc
- You will maintain confidentiality
- You will help promote the good reputation of the home
- Your working hours will be 12 hours shifts, 07.45 - 20.00 and will include alternate weekends and cover for holidays/sickness

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24-36 per week

**Salary**: £9.51 per hour
