**HR Adviser**:

At the Financial Ombudsman Service, we make decisions on a range of complex and difficult issues. Every year we resolve hundreds of thousands of disputes between consumers or small businesses and their financial service providers - and if we believe a customer hasn’t been treated fairly, we can step in to put things right.

We have just published our Periodic Review and are entering an exciting and challenging time at the Financial Ombudsman Service. To meet these challenges, we are expanding our adviser teams to support the organisation through this time.

We’re looking to recruit a HR adviser to work alongside our HR & OD partners and their teams to make sure we deliver an effective service and support to our managers for the next 12 months.

This is a busy and sensitive role that requires you to be understanding, empathetic and diplomatic. You will also need to have great attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

**Minimum Criteria**:

- CIPD qualified or equivalent relevant experience and the ability to demonstrate the level of skills and knowledge required for the role
- Experience of delivering a full range of HR activities in the employee life cycle
- Able to solve problems and identify improvements to ways of working
- Can demonstrate the ability to work proactively in a fast paced environment - you’ll be able to quickly pick up tasks and responsibilities without being instructed
- Exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - your able to communicate in a straightforward way and adapt your communication depending on your audience

- coordinating key projects within HR, anticipating challenges and risks and taking proactive steps to manage these
- assist HR Partners on various change projects, facilitating restructures and ensuring that formal consultation and redundancy processes are carried out in accordance with policy and employment law.
- working closely with HR partners to provide proactive data analysis and be able to propose solutions to support HR partners to work proactively with stakeholders to address any issues
- creating and continually improving processes and toolkits to help streamline workflows
- advising on learning and development opportunities, supporting with the administration/facilitation of training events
- support with recruitment campaigns when needed by conducting interviews and supporting the onboarding experience.
- supporting certain HR processes such as exit interviews, coordinating job evaluation panels and conducting formal hearings
- providing sound and professional generalist HR advice and guidance to line managers and employees when needed
