**Salary - Up to £22,000 DOE**

**Working hours - 35 hours p/week, flex hours**

Our client is a charitable organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that they work in. They are now looking for a Payables Assistant to work alongside the Financial Services Team Leader to ensure the smooth running of the department. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to kickstart their career within finance and gain some crucial experience.

**Responsibilities**

**Payables**:

- Assist the Payables Supervisor to ensure timely supplier payments
- Log and process invoices and credit notes
- Match invoices to purchase orders approved in line with financial regulations.
- Support the preparation of weekly BACS payment through the online banking system.
- Prepare cash book journals and check differences in bank statement entries.
- Ensure effective control over payments taken by direct debit.
- Prepare credit card statement journals from receipt logs provided by card holders.
- Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger monthly.
- Closedown the Accounts Payables ledger at month end,
- Investigate and resolve system issues which impact on the Payables function(or query resolution)

**Skills, experience and knowledge**
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and KPIs
- Good excel and Microsoft skills
