St Peter’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for adults with incurable illnesses in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset areas. We have colleagues in a wide variety of different business areas, from our industry leading clinical team, to our 46 shop retail operation, our exceptional fundraising team, and all of our support functions.
About the role:
In this role you will lead on internal communications to engage and inform all these internal stakeholders. You will help keep them up to date with what’s happening in the organisation, motivate them, and bring them together, all through online, print and face to face channels.

Key responsibilities:
- Editorially own and develop the intranet
- Consider the use of photography, film & emerging technologies in internal comms
- Develop, own and manage the internal comms plan, working collaboratively with all departments
- Ensure internal communications are well constructed, informative and timely
- Manage and deliver any internal communication campaigns, projects and events that engage colleagues and keep them up to date
- Work directly with the CEO and Directors to communicate important business updates to colleagues
- Develop robust two-way communication systems to ensure colleagues have the opportunity to input and feedback
- Work with the People Team to promote the Hospice’s employer brand and Values both internally to staff and externally to prospective employees
- Provide internal communications advice to other departments as necessary
- Ensure internal communications are evaluated with a view to continuous improvement
- Ensure all communications are consistent with our internal tone of voice
- Work with our ED&I leads to communicate the strategy to colleagues, and promote relevant awareness days, weeks and months where required
- Work with the People team and Social Media team to utilise social media (predominantly LinkedIn), to share engaging employee stories
What we can offer you**:
- Salary from £29,250 up to £32,500 per annum (FTE), dependant on experience
- Working hours are 22.5 per week
- Office location: Long Ashton
- Permanent position

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable in order to attend off-site meetings.
St Peter's Hospice is a well-loved hospice that provides extensive inpatient and community services, in Bristol and the surrounding areas. Every year St Peter's Hospice makes a difference in the lives of thousands of patients and their families when it matters most.
Many of our staff work directly with patients and their families in nursing, health care and medical jobs. Others raise money to support patient care through our chain of over 40 charity shops and our fundraising activities. We also have a significant number of staff working in varied office-based roles.

Our Inpatient Unit is a state-of-the-art centre of clinical excellence, that was built with the generous support of the people of Bristol. Beyond our Inpatient Unit, you'll find our team in homes and on the phone 24/7. More recently in response to the pandemic we have moved some services online to continue support for our patients.
The Hospice is also a centre of educational excellence and we teach other healthcare professionals about how to care for people at the end of their lives, supporting the NHS and care homes provide end of life care.
