Production Planner

We are now looking to recruit an Interim Production Planner to join our Sutton in Ashfield Supply Chain team, reporting to our Senior Supply Chain Manager. This interim role is full time Monday - Friday (37.5 week). Hybrid working is available for this role; a minimum of 3 days in the office at Sutton in Ashfield, with the remaining time working from home should you wish.

As the Interim Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating short and long-term production plans that both meet customer demands and maintain a commercial balance of inventory and production efficiency.

You will be responsive to changes in customer demand/componentry availability and communicate these effectively with all stakeholders. You will be required to minimise residual stocks and manage the timely production of seasonal products, promotions, new product launches and packaging changes in conjunction with the new product development and sales teams.

**What duties will our Interim Production Planner get involved with?**
- **Production Planning**: Ownership of the short and long-term production plan at the production site, ensuring robust and optimum plans are created that deliver strong stock availability across both Private Label and Own Label products
- **Componentry Ordering and Management**: Generation of supplier purchase orders with sufficient lead time to ensure sufficient supply to meet the production requirements
- **Supplier Management & Collaboration**: Liaise with key suppliers to share any forecasts and internal production plans as needed to ensure continuous and unbroken supply
- **Forecasting and Demand Management**: Support the maintenance of effective forecasting within the business, and to challenge forecasts that appear incorrect and to ensure their timely correction
- **Stock Management**: Identify and manage short-dated stock issues, componentry with no planned consumption, and serious overstocks
- **Relationships and Communication**: To maintain close contact with production and scheduling teams to ensure plans are optimised, realistic and achievable
- **Team and Personal Development**: Take personal ownership of your development, that develops your skills and experience to perform with current and future roles.
- **General Support & Other**: To provide support for other team members in periods of absence or holiday.

**What type of person would suit this role?**

Due to this being an interim role, we need someone who can get up to speed quickly - therefore you will have relevant Production Planning experience (some training will of course be given). Other characteristics/abilities we would like someone to have include:

- Proficiency in Microsoft office packages, especially Excel and Outlook
- Being a proactive problem solver
- Being able to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Being a clear communicator and organiser
- Working well under pressure
