Meraki Talent have been retained to appoint the permanent position of Financial Controller based in the East of Edinburgh paying a highly competitive salary & benefits package.

**The Opportunity**

This newly appointed Finance Director is looking to strengthen their finance team and add a capable deputy as they embark on a journey of continuous improvement to develop their systems and automation.

The Finance Director has already evolved into a more operationally focused role providing the perfect opportunity and platform for the Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function & its highly performing team.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a qualified Accountant that has experience operating at Finance Manager or Head of Finance/Financial Controller level with people management experience being essential. Individuals that have a track recordof involvement in projects to develop systems, automation and reporting would be of particular interest.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

- Development, training and ownership the finance team including Finance Manager, Management Accountants, and transactional staff - AP, AR, Credit Control & Payroll
- Leading on several continuous improvement initiatives and projects to develop systems, automation & reporting
- Assisting the Finance Director and Board with financial governance, strategic planning, and risk mitigation
- Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
- Production and presentation of monthly management accounts & Board packs
- KPI setting and reporting
- Commercial analysis on existing business, new business and tenders
- Budget setting and monitoring with ability to challenge variances
- Cashflow management and analysis including short, medium & long-term forecasting
- Assisting with statutory accounts and returns including liaising with external Auditors
- Adhoc duties
