Edinburgh, United Kingdom Rhizocore Technologies Full time

At Rhizocore, we’re pioneering a new approach to ecosystem restoration — harnessing the power of fungi to regenerate forests and create healthier environments. Based in Edinburgh, our fast-growing team of scientists, engineers and commercial specialists is scaling a breakthrough biological technology to maximise our impact on ecosystem restoration and sequestration. As we scale internationally, we are recruiting a Financial Controller to join us at a pivotal stage of our growth journey. Expansion into the US will increase the scale and complexity of our financial operations, bringing new challenges. This is a rare opportunity to ownership of finance in a purpose-driven company that’s transforming how the world approaches reforestation and carbon restoration. The Opportunity As Financial Controller , you’ll take the lead on all aspects of financial management and operations at Rhizocore. You’ll bring rigour, structure and foresight to a company moving fast — working directly with the leadership team to ensure that data, reporting and financial processes evolve in step with our expansion. You’ll be as comfortable getting into the detail of day-to-day finance operations as you are shaping models, systems and insights that inform strategic decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, early-stage environment, enjoys building things from the ground up, and wants to make a tangible impact on the planet. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of all finance operations including management accounting, cash flow, forecasting and reporting. Lead the development and automation of financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across the business. Deliver clear, data-driven insights to support leadership decision-making and operational improvement. Manage outsourced bookkeeping and accounting partners; ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and audit requirements. Oversee budgeting, cost control and financial planning across departments. Support the leadership team in preparing financial models for growth, investment and commercial planning. Ensure financial governance, transparency and control as the business scales internationally. About You Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or qualified by experience. Strong operational finance experience - ideally gained in a high-growth SME, start-up or scale-up environment. Experience managing group accounting, including processing intercompany transactions. Proficiency in preparing consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, cash flow, etc). Broad knowledge of accounting standards. Expertise maintaining general ledgers. Confident with modern finance tools and automation. A hands-on, detail-oriented approach; you’re comfortable owning both operations and strategic financial modelling. Exceptional analytical and communication skills - able to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights. A self-starter who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven culture. Beneficial An understanding of the accounting challenges that come with making and selling a physical product, shipping goods across borders, and recording raw material inventories. Apply as directed above, or by sending your CV to cp@kleboejardine.com for a confidential discussion. Kleboe Jardine are representing Rhizocore Technologies exclusively. Any applicant submitted via other channels will be directed to and processed by Kleboe Jardine.
