**About the role**
As we continue through an exciting phase of organisational growth and evolution, we are seeking to extend the breadth and depth of our finance service offering and we currently have a great opportunity to join our finance team as an expert financial modeller to support the development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our finance systems and processes with a focus on financial planning and analysis.
This role plays a pivotal part in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our modelling suite and involves ensuring key-decision making models are robust and remain within risk appetite, and includes portfolio elements of financial planning.
**You'll spend your time**
- Maintaining, developing and streamlining existing financial planning and analysis models covering revenue, staff costs, other costs, consolidation and budget holder variance analysis
- Collaborating with other areas of finance to support the re-engineering of upstream feeder systems to ensure efficient, complete and controlled data flows into FP&A models
- Working closely with the BI team, developers, third party providers and finance colleagues develop efficient information distribution solutions to best meet customer needs
- As we improve our financial systems developing lead modeller report writing and analysis skills on the new architecture
- Expertly structuring static and large volumes of financial data supporting model scalability and future proofing
- Acting as a financial modelling centre of excellence, developing and promoting modelling standards and controls for the wider finance function, including providing modelling training and support to the wider finance team
- Bringing innovative solutions to modelling problems

**We've always placed more importance on cultural contribution above technical ability, but we'd really like you to have**:

- Significant experience of complex financial model specification, build, testing, go live, maintenance and continuous improvements
- Suitable training of and experience with best practice spreadsheet modelling methodologies and standards e.g. (FAST, BPSM, other)
- Advanced level Excel skills (adapt at using pivots, macros, Sumifs, xlookups, data tables)
- Aptitude for presenting financial information succinctly
- Rigorous implementation of data integrity and completeness controls experience
- Flexible and adaptable
- Able to prioritise the high impact work, and work under the pressure of short or changing deadlines without impacting quality or accuracy
- Excellent relationship building skills
