**Job Title**: Site Manager/caretaker
**Location**: Basingstoke, Newbury, Reading
**Employment Type**: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

**Job Overview**:
Secondary schools in the Area are seeking a reliable and proactive **Site Managers **to oversee the maintenance, security, and general operations of the school premises. The Site Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the school's environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, creating an optimal space for staff and students. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, requiring someone who is both hands-on and able to manage contractors and projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Maintenance & Repairs**: Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on school facilities and equipment (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- **Security**: Ensure the security of the school premises, including opening and locking up the site, and managing security systems like alarms and CCTV.
- **Health & Safety**: Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, including conducting regular checks and risk assessments.
- **Groundskeeping**: Maintain the outdoor areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and free from hazards.
- **Supervision of Contractors**: Liaise with external contractors for larger repairs and maintenance projects, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
- **Event Preparation**: Set up and take down equipment for school events or exams as required.

**Key Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational environment.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Strong DIY and maintenance skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to address urgent issues or emergencies outside regular hours.
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one).

**Working Hours**:

- Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required for events or emergencies.

**Salary**:
Competitive, based on experience.
