**Overview**
As an Operations Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Judkins Household Waste and Recycling Centre charity shop. You will assist in sorting, pricing, and displaying donated goods, ensuring that the shop maintains high standards of presentation and customer service. By helping maximise sales and efficiency, your contribution directly supports the hospice's mission to provide care and support for our community. This role requires teamwork, initiative, and a passion for sustainability and charity work.

The Hospice is supported by a retail portfolio of charity shops and an active online presence selling a variety of new and donated quality goods. Profits raised from our shops play a vital part in our income generation activities contributing to the £2.6 million per year it costs to deliver specialist palliative and end of life care in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:
Shop Operations:

- Open and close the shop, following security procedures.
- Assist with end-of-day cashing up and reconciliation.
- Monitor and ensure the shop’s security, reporting any concerns to management. Donations and Inventory Management:

- Receive, sort, and process donations efficiently.
- Conduct PAT testing on electrical items (training provided).
- Price, label, and display items in an organized and appealing manner.
- Ensure stock rotation and highlight valuable or unique items to the manager.

Customer Service:

- Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with purchases and inquiries.
- Help customers load and unload donations or purchased items safely.
- Handle customer concerns or complaints in a professional manner. Health, Safety, and Maintenance:

- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all areas of the shop and recycling centre.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring the well-being of staff, volunteers, and customers.
- Support staff and volunteers in understanding and adhering to shop policies.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £23,615.00 per year
