**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Coordinator to join our team.

Viewpoint's Peer Coordinator will lead the development of Peer support and facilitation for the organisation. This involves managing, coordinating and driving forward the development of Peer support within our organisation. As the primary lead, you will be instrumental in the recruitment of Peer Support workers and facilitators, crafting individualised development plans in collaboration with peers, and providing essential supervision to guide their growth and success.

In addition to your involvement in peer support operations, you will take charge of coordinating and enhancing service user engagement initiatives focusing on drug and alcohol support services. Your expertise will contribute significantly to driving these critical engagement programs forward while making a lasting impact on the individuals we serve.

Your role as the Viewpoint Peer Support Coordinator, will mean that will be at the forefront of innovation, leading by example to inspire a team of dedicated Peer Support workers / facilitators.

Viewpoint develops innovative ways that support people with a lived experience of mental health issues and/or addiction challenges—working with 800 experts by experience, putting them at the center of all everything we do. We support people to be independent, have their say and influence change to services. Working across the whole of Hertfordshire.

Our support is flexible and needs-led, delivered by outreach group-based activity, one to one or remotely. Staff or members who have a lived experience facilitate our programmes. We offer educational sessions that enhance wellbeing and equip individuals with the skills and self-belief to aid their recovery journey.

**The Important Bits**

**Location**:This position is hybrid, meaning you'll split your time between working in the office and working remotely. You will need to be able to travel around Hertfordshire either by car or public transport regularly.

**Hours**:30 hours per week

**Salary**: FTE £27,300 (Pro-rota for 30 hours £25,613)

**Contract Term**:12 months fixed term

**Pension**:Viewpoint will contribute a sum equal to 5% of your annual salary to a pension provided that you contribute at least 3% of your annual salary to the pension scheme.

**Annual Leave**:Annual leave will commence following six months probationary period and will rise to 25 days plus 8 Bank holidays.

**Main duties and responsibilities**

**To manage the Peer Support Service**

To ensure that the Service supports people who are experiencing mental health challenges to:

- Maintain and develop their independence within their local community.
- Build life skills, confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
- Build social networks and reduce isolation.
- Engage in peer support sessions and offer holistic support, advice, information, and if necessary onward referral to other support.
- Opportunities to direct their own recovery process through self-management and choice.

To ensure that the Service promotes the principle of personal recovery, including to:

- Model and mentor recovery and demonstrate coping skills.
- Embed a person-centred and recovery-orientated approach in all aspects of the work.
- Inspire hope, share life experiences and lessons learnt.

To Build and Work as a Team which will
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and review of the peer facilitation programmes.
- To work together with the experts by experience of mental health and/or addictions in the co-production activities to ensure the service meets the needs of people within Hertfordshire.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of everyone taking part in peer support activities.
- To report any untoward incidents or unusual occurrences to the Operational Manager.
- To report any safeguarding concerns to the Operational Manager.
- To attend the team meetings, support groups as appropriate.

**Communication**
- To meet, welcome, introduce and orientate the people to service.
- To help promote peer support sessions.
- To work with stakeholders across pubic, voluntary organisations, people with lived experience - valuing all contributors to enhance the peer support service offered and ensure the integratory
