**The Role
Do you possess previous experience of solar plus roofing or building products and systems? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a manufacturer of Building Integrated Photovoltaic roofing solutions, looking to appoint an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to work with the National Sales Manager and Chief Executive Officer to find and develop new business.

**Key Responsibilities**

The key responsibilities of a Business Development Manager include, but are not limited to:

- Sale of BIPVco products
- Prospecting responsibility for projects and specifiers
- Identify nationwide projects through means provided.
- Target all architects’ practices
- Secure Specification
- Manage Accounts
- CPD development beyond architects for M&E consultants and other building professionals.
- Make technical proposals for projects including energy modeling where required.
- Produce standard drawing with manufacturing partners for downloadable support to the architects.
- Support colleagues with sales and specification including client visits.
- Market research to identify projects. This can be done by using Glenigan ABI leads or planning approvals and other sources.
- Specifiers can also be identified by above as well as from public and private (purchasable) databases like RIBA member list.
- Specifiers can also be targeted by social media such as LinkedIn.Ongoing social media activity to raise profile and pull in interested specifiers and end clients. Issue monthly bulletins to keep them interested.
- SEO to get in front of searchers and pay per click to channel traffic to web site
- Write specification for architect inc roof as appropriate.
- Budget costing including roof if required with support from manufacturer / installer if required.
- Identify, train and approve installer network and roof manufacturing partners to widen channel
- Model output and cost benefit if required.

**The Company
BIPVco specialises in the manufacture of Building Integrated Photovoltaic roofing solutions for the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

BIPVco solar integrated roofs use super thin photovoltaic sheets integrated directly onto pre-coated metal and membrane components to create a combined PV roof system that can be installed in the same way as a conventional roofing system.

BIPVco uses CIGS technology (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) thin-film solar cells to convert sunlight to energy. They differ from traditional crystalline based Building Applied Photovoltaic systems (BAPV), which use heavier more bulky solar PV panels, mountedon top of roofs or other spaces after the construction of the building.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Business Development Manager are:

- Sales experience within solar, roofing or building products and systems ideally gained working within the specification sector.
- Motivational, focused, results oriented, leadership, capable of extracting the best from team.
- Previous experience of roofing is essential.
- Firsthand knowledge of roof design and construction, CAD capable to produce design / drawing proposals if required is desirable
- Knowledge of solar would be an advantage (but not essential)
- Knowledge and experience of established modern manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge and contacts within the mobile market, the basis of proposed supply chain.
- Commercial Experience of developing international markets and business.
- IT literate
