A vacancy has arisen for a **1st Line Helpdesk **to join our client’s team based in Barnsley. You will join them on a **full-time, permanent basis** you will be rewarded with a competitive salary + benefits.

Our client is looking to recruit a Helpdesk Engineer join their existing team. The role entails diagnosis of helpdesk incidents and to either resolve the ticket to the owner’s satisfaction or escalate it to the appropriate team member. As their 1st Line Helpdesk you will complete the initial diagnosis of support incidents and either resolve to the ticket owners satisfaction using documented processes and procedures or escalate to Second Line Technical Support or Application Development Support using agreed protocols.

**Key responsibilities as the 1st Line Helpdesk will include**:

- Fulfil standard requests using documented processes and procedures
- Receive and log calls on behalf of colleagues
- Manage incidents, requests and problems in line with current skills and abilities
- Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, requests, and any other aspect of IT service management
- Setup and configuration of new mobile phones and handheld devices
- Inform and instruct colleagues on how to get the best out of the Symphony IT in the most efficient and effective manner
- Work on the shift and/or rota as determined by their manager in a consistent manner

**As our** **1st Line Helpdesk you must have**:

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- A good understanding of customer service, to promote professional conduct and company values internally and externally
- IT literate, able to learn in-house systems and explain concepts clearly to others
- Analytical, research and problem solving skills
- Good organisational skills
- Due to shift work own transport would be advantageous
