**Your new role**

National Highways are currently recruiting for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our HR team in Birmingham. Within this role, you will be support Line managers with ER matters, providing advice, guidance and resolutions to difficult situations and employee relations cases, ensuring that National Highways are legally protected and comply with National Highways policies and procedures. You will also be working with Senior HRBPs to embed ER initiatives and enable people managers to take ownership of all people and ER activities.

**What you'll be doing**
- Leading on a variety of escalated ER cases and issues, using your knowledge in Employee Relations and employment law.
- Contribute to the review and delivery of ER policies, materials and guidance to support the delivery of ER services.
- Managing multiple ER cases, using and updating the case management system effectively, from receipt of a case through to its conclusion or escalate accordingly.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Employee Relations Strategy and plan throughout the business.
- Proactively represent Employee Relations and support Senior HRBP’s within directorates acting as role models for the organisational values and behaviours.
- Working collaboratively with Senior HRBP’s by coaching and mentoring people managers, helping them understand how best to deliver Employee Relations services to all employees.

**To be successful**
- Qualified up to Level 5 CIPD
- End-to-end Core HR and ER Casework experience
- Up to date knowledge of employment laws
- Strong stakeholder management
- Knowledge of governance guidelines, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication, advisory and coaching skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people managers and employees within the business
