Service Controller

We are recruiting for a Service Controller for our emc business based in Brighouse.
Dawsongroup emc is the UK’s leading supplier of self-drive municipal, industrial, and specialist vehicles for contract hire.
The Service Controller will be responsible for controlling the workshop as well as mobile and third-party engineers, ensuring that programmed maintenance, breakdown, and damage repairs are smoothly controlled and properly authorised and in budget.
As the Service Controller you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring hire fleet equipment is maintained to the manufacturer’s recommendations and legislative requirements as a minimum whilst maximising availability
- Identifying damage to hire fleet equipment caused by customers and liaising with those customers regarding rechargeable items, estimates for repair and loss of use
- Planning and scheduling all servicing and repairs
- Liaising with the stores department to ensure that appropriate parts are available for use in the workshop, by field engineering personnel and third-party repairers
- Authorising and controlling expenditure
- Dealing with compliance event due notifications
- Issuing repair orders from the maintenance computer system for servicing and repair work to third-party repair agents
- Processing and approving invoices
- Ensuring that hard copy and computerised records are updated
The successful Service Controller will hold:
- Previous experience in a customer service or scheduling environment
- Numerate to the extent of calculating costs quickly and accurately
- Well organised and self-motivated to provide excellent customer service
