**Purpose of the Role**
This exciting remote based opportunity has arisen to join a growing Risk & Compliance (R&C) Team, reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance MGA.
The MGA segment of Ardonagh Advisory is a complex and diverse business covering a broad range of regulated activities to brokers, acting as agent of the insurer, for a range of general insurance lines to clients and customers for primarily commercial businessand a range of distribution methods.
The role is a second line of defence responsible for the oversight of business areas but particularly our Commercial MGA segment to work with and challenge business management to ensure that all regulatory, operational and conduct risks that impact the businessare identified, assessed and have appropriate controls that are appropriately monitored.
**What you will do**
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:
- Ensure that there is on-going assurance of and adherence to relevant Group Policies and Business Standards.
- Provide support to embed the Risk & Compliance Framework and ensure compliance with policies and business standards are assessed and maintained.
- Work with the business first line to ensure risks and controls are identified, validated and documented.
- Provide advice, guidance and challenge to the business in their population and assessment of risks and controls.
- Communicate relevant regulatory information to business areas.
- Act as a point of contact for risk and compliance queries and take steps to ensure consistent stances are adopted.
- Maintain appropriate 2nd line oversight of 1st line of defence controls with particular regard to Quality Assurance, Complaints, Training & Competence, Conflicts of Interest management, and breach reporting.
- Assist in identifying key regulatory implications for projects and provide risk, regulatory and compliance support to ensure that projects are compliant.
- Second line oversight of breach and risk event reporting and remediation.
- Analyse relevant MI to identify gaps in risk and compliance issues and undertake root cause analysis to highlight underlying trends and identify and track actions.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Extensive knowledge of the FCA’s Rules (relevant to general insurance intermediation)
- Relevant industry qualification or extensive experience in a position regulating general insurance intermediation.
This is an opportunity for a detailed orientated, organised, individual who is able to interpret, analyse and present information clearly, concisely and professionally whilst demonstrating their business acumen, gravitas and credibility to build and maintainstrong working relationships with all levels of colleagues including senior leaders. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload and meeting deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Meticulous attention to detail, investigative, problemsolving and logical reasoning skills are needed as well as the ability to work with, train and lead others.
