In the Administrative Assistant job, you will be:

- Providing a range of clerical tasks including typing, data handling, diary management, minute taking, circulating meeting notes and other duties as and when necessary to meet the needs of the Service
- Maintaining and updating file records both manual and electronic, inputting data and running reports in order to produce statistics
- The first point of contact in answering all telephone enquiries and undertaking reception duties as and when required
- Sorting and preparing incoming and outgoing mail for both internal and external parties
- Assist with the development of work systems within the Area office to improve organisational efficiency

To be considered for the Administrative Assistant role, you will have:

- Previous relevant administration experience including strong inputting and typing skills at 35 wpm
- NVQ level 3 in Administration or equivalent qualification or possess an equivalent amount of proven administrative experience
- Intermediate IT skills; good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to use IT databases
- Proven communication skills, with an ability to deal with enquiries from internal and external parties
- An ability to prioritise workload, work to deadlines and responding positively under pressure
- Excellent time management skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team and independently using own initiative
- Level 4 Welsh ability - Speaking and Listening - Requires that you can:

- Keep up an extended conversation or give a presentation with a good degree of fluency and range of expression but may need to revert to another language to answer unpredictable questions or explain complex points or technical information
- Contribute effectively to meetings and seminars within own area of work. Argue for/against a case

This is a permanent vacancy, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will be based at the Fire Safety department in Colwyn Bay Fire station, supporting the Conwy and Denbighshire Fire safety team.In return, you’ll receive a salary startingfrom £20,444 to £21,269 per annum PLUS employee benefits and training opportunities.
