With the ever-increasing number of treatments and care we give to patients, our professional and detailed Administration department have a need for a **Patient Booking Lead **to support our Patient Referral Manager in assisting the Plymouth Hospital Team.

This is a role where you work as a senior member of the administration team to provide a comprehensive administration/booking role to the unit and to lead the team of Patient Bookers.

**This is a 9 month, Fix Term Contract, maternity cover position**

**Working, Monday - Friday from 08:00 to 16:00**

**What you'll be doing**:
As a Patient Booking Lead, you will lead a professional and patient focused booking team, supporting the Patient Referral Manager with the daily workload.

Key tasks include:

- To provide daily support to the patient booking team ensuring the patient is processed through the pathway following PPG guidelines. Provide cover for booking team as and when required.
- Monitor outpatient and theatre capacity and inform the Patient Referral Manager of any shortfall in capacity.
- Allocate daily/weekly/monthly tasks to the Patient Booking team. Ensure the PISCES process and tool is being used correctly, booking theatre slots to the required timings and procedures.
- Monitor staff sickness and holiday, appraisals and ensure any mandatory training is completed.
- To provide training to any new member of the booking team on the patient pathway process following the department training plan.

**What we’ll look for in you**:
This a 9 months Fix Term Contract to cover maternity leave, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

You must have a polite and friendly approach with experience of dealing with patients/customers, with the ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm manner.

Excellent computer skills are essential with good attention to detail in your daily tasks.
