We are currently recruiting a Transport Assistant for a family run Logistics Company in the Peterborough area.
**What's in it for me**:

**About the Transport Assistant Role**:
The role of the Transport Assistant plays a key part in supporting the smooth operation of the Traffic office. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination of transport/driver schedules and other administrative tasks. As part of this role, you will take ownership for ensuring efficient communication with drivers, customers and other depots to pro-actively manage delivery schedules and deal with potential issues.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- **Traffic scheduling** - collaborating with traffic planners across the operation, schedule deliveries and co-ordinate the movement of goods and vehicles both efficiently and in line with customer requirements.
- **Communication / Problem Resolution**:
- **Compliance** - Ensure adherence and compliance with all industry regulations and in-house policies and procedures.
- **Administrative Tasks / Record Keeping**:
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records in relation to transportation activities.
- **Sales Ledger Support / Collaboration**:
- Assist the accounts/invoicing team by answering queries on deliveries, thus playing a key part in invoices being raised in a timely manner.
**Experience / Key Skills Required**:
- Previous experience in a Transport or Logistics operation
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Able to build good relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Conscientious & detail orientated
- Solution driven
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good team player
- Persuasive and professional approach
**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Pay: £13.00 per hour
