Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Senior Transport Planner to work on our Peterborough contract in Sand Martin House Peterborough.
As a Senior Transport Planner you will be part of our Transport Planning Team working with our Peterborough City Council client to improve the transport infrastructure of the city.
Working in partnership with the council’s Transport, Highway and Regeneration teams over £90million of funding has already been secured for projects including the creation of Peterborough Station Quarter, a new University and river crossing. Building on these successes, the partnership has huge ambitions including a £1billion regeneration plan to transform the city.
**As a Senior Transport Planner your duties & responsibilities will be**:
- Leading the delivery of business cases, transport studies and traffic models.
- Responsibility for delivery of work to time, cost and in line with quality expectations
- Provision of technical support and training to junior members of the Transport Planning Team.
- Lead on small - medium sized Transport Planning projects and coordinate multi-disciplinary input from colleagues, consultants and stakeholders where necessary.
- Undertake Quality Assurance reviews on work undertaken by Transport Planners and Transport Planning Technicians, as well as consultants.
- Establish strong client relationships and support the Transport Planning Lead with work winning.
- Be actively engaged with the broader Transport Planning community, and share leaning and innovation with the team.
***Skills & Knowledge Requirements**
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in strategic (Saturn or Visum) and/or microsimulation transport modelling (Aimsun or Vissim) and local junction modelling (Junctions 10 and Linsig), as well as GIS.
- Experience of providing input into successful Transport Business Cases and a solid understanding of the requirements for producing these.
- An awareness of local government structure and funding mechanisms, and experience of working on behalf of Local Authorities.
- Experience of working directly with clients, and an ability to deputise in the absence of the Transport Planning Lead.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience of presenting to clients and their stakeholders.
- Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Ideally 7 + years of Transport Planning experience
