**Overview**

**The PCEP is a non degree entry Police Officer route**

This is a **2-year probation** route that will see you gain fully ranked Police Officer status and complete your initial Policing portfolio, alongside academic work/assignments, and exams. You will work in several different areas of Policing during your 2-year probation which include Response/Patrol (front line), Community Policing Teams and Crime Investigation. Student Officers will be working at Level 5 Academic level. Unfortunately, it is an unaccredited course. Students will have role plays, 3 exams with a 70% pass mark, they will also have to complete 5 formative (pass/fail) written assessments whilst on the course.

Currently, there are **NO **specific qualification requirements for this route into Policing (this will be changing in the very near future though), **but a GOOD understanding of written and spoken English is essential.**

**Nationality Eligibility**

**'To be eligible for appointment, you must be a British citizen or a citizen of a country that is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. Commonwealth citizens and foreign nationals are also eligible but only if they are resident in the UK free of restrictions.**

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct regular patrols to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to calls for assistance, emergencies, and incidents.
- Enforce laws and regulations while ensuring the rights of individuals are respected.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations.
- Engage with community members to build relationships and promote crime prevention initiatives.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary and coordinate with emergency services.
- Conduct surveillance operations as required to gather evidence on criminal activities

Pay: From £31,407.00 per year
