The SEROCU Cyber Crime Unit are seeking a Regional Cyber Protect Officer to join the team in delivering proactive cybersecurity advice and cyber incident response support to organisational victims of cybercrime. The role also involves creating and delivering innovative proactive projects to protect individuals and organisations at scale.

The SEROCU Cyber Crime Unit sets out to tackle both cyber-dependent crime and the most complex and serious cyber-enabled crime. The Unit is made up of the Cyber Pursue, Protect and Prevent capabilities. This role reports to the SEROCU Cyber Protect & Prevent Sergeant.

The Cyber Protect role arises from the UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy. Cyber Protect aims to support victims of cyber-crime to prevent them from being repeat-victims as well as to educate individuals and organisations to prevent them from being a victim in the first place.

The Cyber Protect Officer will be joining a team responsible for:

- Supporting individual and organisational victims of cyber-dependent crime and educating them as to how to improve their cyber-security
- Delivering presentations and other engagements including tabletop exercises to various audiences to educate them about the threat of cybercrime, teach key mitigations and signpost further resources
- Providing information which accords with the Cyber Aware guidance for individuals and National Cyber Security Centre guidance for organisations
- Creating innovative projects and campaigns to deliver key messages to audiences on a large scale or using more effective methods
- Working with the SEROCU Cyber Prevent team to support the education sector

While the Cyber-Crime Unit are generally based at SEROCU Headquarters near Junction 12 of the M4, there is an opportunity for flexible working including some working from home or the most suitable location. SEROCU have other offices near Whiteley in Hampshire and Crawley, West Sussex. **Responsibilities**
- Engage with key stakeholders to influence a reduction in an organisation’s vulnerability to cyber-attack, where available using national or regional products or developing bespoke products to suit customer needs as appropriate, such as creating and delivering leadership and staff cybersecurity training material as well as boardroom exercises.
- Research, create and deliver innovative, scalable and evidence-based long-term public awareness campaigns to educate the general public as to key cybercrime prevention messages, signposting information and options for further support, in support of the national objective to make the UK the safest place to live and work online in the world. Provide cybercrime awareness presentations to communities, partners and colleagues using existing national or regional material where available or creating innovative new resources where required.
- Identify, build and manage new relationships with other partners, including the private sector, wider cyber-security industry and other law enforcement agencies, to improve the scale and reach of Cyber Protect campaigns and engagement. Influence senior leaders in third-party organisations to recognise the strategic importance of cyber-security and how their collaboration with Cyber Protect can benefit their organisation while supporting the Cyber Protect strategic objectives.
- Support the Cyber Protect & Prevent Sergeant in achieving the Cyber Protect strategic objectives at a Force and Regional level, as well as in delivering national obligations under the overarching UK National Cyber Security Strategy. Will be expected to mentor new colleagues and direct the work of cyber specials and volunteers.
- Assist the Force & Regional Cybercrime leads in providing specialist cybersecurity advice and support to operational commanders in the event of a cybercrime incident within the relevant area, as well as acting as Regional point of contact to national cybercrime resources including National Cyber Security Centre and National Cybercrime Unit teams when deployed within the relevant boundaries. This includes ensuring operational commanders understand where Force and Regional Policy and Procedure in digital investigation and other policing areas may conflict with the business demands of a cybercrime incident, as well as identifying innovative solutions to mitigate these conflicts for the benefit of all stakeholders.
- Represent the Force or Region at the request of the Cyber Protect & Prevent Sergeant. This includes participation in meetings and national working groups with
