We are looking to recruit for a Housing Resettlement Officer with a key area of focus being the recovery of rough sleeping. The role will involve working closely with partner agencies to identify, engage with and support individuals found to be rough sleeping in the Eastleigh borough and engage them with support services. This role will require outreach to be completed on certain days alongside partner organisation which will require an early start (approx. 6am).

The Housing Resettlement Officer will provide support to individuals to find a pathway into accommodation, including emergency accommodation, supported accommodation and private rented accommodation. They will also offer tenancy sustainment support where needed. Additionally the role will focus on prevention of rough sleeping, identifying individuals at risk of rough sleeping through early intervention and utilising resources available to offer bespoke packages to individuals to promote wellbeing. The role will involve working closely with customers, often with complex needs, delivering housing, homelessness and tenancy advice and assistance to secure and maintain suitable accommodation.

This will be a challenging but rewarding role for someone with the right skills knowledge and attitude. You will need to be educated to A level standard/NVQ Level 3 and/or have demonstrable experience of working in Housing and/or homelessness, with a working knowledge of the requirements of the Homelessness Reduction Act and relevant policy. You will need to have the ability to develop good working relationships with external agencies as well as be able to actively encourage, influence and support people to change their behaviour.
