Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in Salford, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across our organisation.

• Design and implement data warehouse solutions and ETL processes to support business intelligence initiatives
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction and analysis
• Create interactive dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Perform data modelling and design to ensure optimal performance of BI systems
• Develop and maintain documentation for BI processes, data dictionaries, and user guides
• Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the BI ecosystem
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and applications
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the field of business intelligence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in business intelligence or a related role
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing concepts
• Understanding of ETL processes and tools
• Proficient in using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with data modelling and database design
• Knowledge of Python or R programming for data analysis
• Strong data visualization skills and ability to create compelling, interactive dashboards
• Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis
• Understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are desirable
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
