Are you enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about making a difference for children and young people? We are looking for a Wellbeing and Pastoral practitioner to join our fantastic Support Hub team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your energy creativity and commitment to a role where every day has a positive impact on students' lives. As a Wellbeing and pastoral practitioner, you'll play a vital role in helping students to grow in confidence, build strong relationships and step into their potential. We hold high expectations and a community wide commitment to supporting the development of our young people, with a wide range of learning difficulties, including severe/profound and complex, SEMH and autism.
What you'll be doing:
Working under the direction of our Pastoral Lead, you will:
· Support students' social, emotional and mental health through a blend of individual and small group work.
· Use a restorative and trauma informed approach to help young people manage and understand their emotions.
· Support children in moments of dysregulation with calm, compassionate, relationship-based strategies.
· Use total communication approaches to ensure every student's voice is heard and understood.
· Help students build resilience, strengthen relationships and fulfil their potential both in and out of the classroom.
You should have:
· The ability to build trusting relationships quickly with children and young people
· Prior experience of supporting social, emotional or behavioural needs in an education setting or similar.
· Proven experience of impacting positively with children with autism, SEMH and those with social communication differences.
· A restorative and trauma informed approach to behaviour and wellbeing.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· The confidence to deliver small group and 1:1 session with guidance and support.
· A genuine passion and motivation to make a difference in the lives of our students.
· The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
· Have energy for supporting positive behaviour, communication and complex needs, work in a relationship-based and trauma informed way and have a relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
