Job Introduction
ROLE OF THE JOB
Are you ready to help shape the future of Northumberland's economy? We are looking for a Senior Programme Officer to join our Funding Investment and Assurance Team within the Economic Development & Growth Service. You will play a pivotal role in delivering multi-year investment programmes, supporting strategic regeneration and economic growth across the county.
Day-to-day, you will lead on programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and funding bodies to ensure milestones are met and investment is maximised.
This includes supporting the delivery of high-profile initiatives such as:
- Growth Endowment Investment Fund (GEIF) – a strategic fund designed to unlock investment opportunities, accelerate regeneration and generate long-term economic value across Northumberland.
- Investment Zones (IZ) – targeted areas for accelerated economic growth, where you will support programme delivery and performance monitoring.
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team based at County Hall, Morpeth, with agile and flexible working arrangements available to support your success.
We are looking for a dynamic professional with strong programme management skills, excellent stakeholder engagement experience, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. If you have a passion for shaping economic development we want to hear from you.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years' recent experience and achievement in external funding management and support.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering externally funded projects, including Investment Funds, Investment Zones, and Growth Endowment Funds.
- Advanced IT and project management skills, strong analytical and written communication abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability and license to drive to current EU standard
