Company Overview:

Pacer Technology is a UK-based high-tech startup specializing in the development and manufacturing of innovative thermoplastic polymer products. We deliver solutions with exceptional mechanical and functional performance, optimizing materials and processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, unlocking new possibilities for both end-users and industrial applications worldwide.

Role Description:

The role is to lead the development of thermoplastic composite material components / products, specifically from continuous fibres, such as carbon and glass fibres. The role will include the project management of the work, material selections and testing. The manufacturing will mainly be handled by an innovation partner, but the role will include some process engineering development, experience of this is a notable advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the
    full project lifecycle
    , from planning to delivery, utilising established project management methodologies to ensure successful completion.
  2. Collaborate with the team, providing support and guidance to ensure project tasks are completed efficiently and meet quality standards.
  3. Contribute to the selection and testing of
    thermoplastic composite materials
    , ensuring they meet project specifications and performance requirements.
  4. Work with external innovation partners to develop and prototype new components, documenting the process and contributing to
    knowledge development in process engineering
    .
  5. Actively contribute to the Pacer Technologies Intellectual Property (IP) strategy
    by identifying, documenting, and protecting new innovations, ensuring the company's competitive advantage in the market.

Requirements:

  1. Education in materials science, composite materials, mechanical engineering, project management
  2. 2 to 5 years of experience in industry ideally with experience working with suppliers
  3. Knowledge of composite materials with automated manufacturing process
  4. Knowledge of material verification testing and component testing methods
  5. Knowledge and experience of product development
  6. Be able to work in the UK without the need for a visa
