Role Overview

You'll be operating an Amada CNC turret punch, producing accurate components and keeping production moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Amada CNC punch presses safely and efficiently.
  • Set up tooling, load programs, and select correct punch tools.
  • Read engineering drawings, punch maps, and job cards.
  • Perform test hits and adjust settings for quality and tolerance.
  • Monitor tool wear, replace punches/dies, and report damaged tooling.
  • Inspect finished parts for burrs, accuracy, and quality.
  • Load and unload sheet metal using proper lifting equipment.
  • Carry out daily checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
  • Identify and report issues like misalignment, tool damage, or sheet movement.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
  • Work with laser, brake press, and fabrication teams.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Amada punch presses (EM, AE, Vipros, Pega, etc.).
  • Understanding of turret tooling, clearances, and tool selection.
  • Confident with CNC controls and program adjustments.
  • Able to read engineering drawings accurately.
  • Strong mechanical awareness and troubleshooting ability.
  • FLT licence is beneficial but not essential.
  • Reliable, practical, and detail-focused.
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable.
  • Team player with ownership of their work.
  • Proactive and quick to flag issues.
