Role: Events Coordinator

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Events Coordinator to join our Events and Engagement department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Events Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Event Planning & Coordination – Organise and deliver award ceremonies, graduations, stakeholder events, and recruitment activities, managing venues, suppliers, logistics, and budgets to ensure smooth execution.
• Creative Design & Presentation – Develop innovative event themes, décor, and collateral (invitations, programmes, signage), ensuring high-quality presentation and a memorable attendee experience.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management – Manage invitations, guest lists, and VIP coordination; liaise with internal teams and external suppliers; and maintain accurate event calendars and records.
• Content & Promotion – Capture photography and video for marketing use, collaborate with communications teams to share event highlights, and support brand reputation through engaging content.
• Compliance & Professional Standards – Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety requirements, while participating in training and development to maintain best practice.

About you:

• Education – GCSEs in English and Maths (A*–C) and A Level or equivalent.
• Experience – Skilled in event planning and social media content posting.
• Communication – Excellent written and verbal skills; confident and diplomatic with all levels.
• Organisation & Accuracy – Highly organised, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Additional Requirements – Strong IT skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends, commitment to values, driving licence and own transport.
