A CCT Glaucoma Fellow is required, based at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill site. The post would suit experienced trainees wishing to consolidate their glaucoma experience and gain further exposure in managing complex glaucoma and undertaking advanced surgical techniques, including Baerveldt and Paul aqueous shunts, glaucoma revision surgery, trabeculectomy, Preserflo Microshunt, and less invasive glaucoma surgery such as iStent implants, Omni canaloplasty/trabeculotomy, excimer laser trabeculostomy, cyclophotocoagulation, and other glaucoma laser procedures. One-to-one consultant surgical training and supervision will be provided, with two dedicated weekly glaucoma theatre sessions.

The appointee must be able to competently undertake cataract surgery independently, as they will be expected to perform cataract surgery in challenging cases and supervise junior trainees.

The tenure of the post is 1 year. Applicants must have MRCOphth or an equivalent qualification. It is expected that the appointee will undertake clinical audits and contribute to clinical research during their training. The appointee will also participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for the Denmark Hill site and will have a weekly session in the King's Rapid Eye Service (KRES) at Denmark Hill.

Regular clinical duties, based at King's College Hospital and/or Queen Mary's Hospital, include the management of out-patients and in-patients, including ward referrals.

The post-holders will be expected to contribute to and participate in the Department's ongoing clinical audit programme and to carry out all necessary administrative duties associated with the care of their patients. The post-holders will also have a general duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of colleagues, visitors, and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance responsibilities associated with these posts.

Together with other colleagues, to provide a comprehensive service for patients. This includes all aspects of clinical care, treatment, and relevant management duties necessary for the proper functioning of the Care Group.

Shared responsibility with colleagues for providing 24/7 cover for the Unit on a rota basis. This also includes covering colleagues' periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.

Participation in multidisciplinary meetings.

Contribution to audit and clinical governance programmes.

Responsibility for outpatient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals, as agreed with the Care Group management team.

Contribution to the Care Group's research interests, in accordance with the Trust's R&D framework.

Contribution to audit programmes, Morbidity and Mortality meetings, clinical governance programmes, and Learning from Deaths initiatives.

Conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and in line with the operating plan for the service(s).

Work collaboratively with clinical and other professional colleagues to ensure staff productivity within the specialty is maintained and job satisfaction is enhanced. This may include involvement in the appraisal process for peers and/or junior colleagues.

Comply with all Trust infection prevention and control policies, including hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, and food hygiene.

Prepare for and undertake any protective interventions for which you are responsible, in a manner consistent with evidence-based practice and maintaining patient safety.
