This an excellent opportunity for well-motivated doctor to gain experience in gynaecological oncology and high level gynaecological surgical experience, working as fellow working mainly for gynaecological oncology services.

This post supports the candidate to gain experience in the Royal College of O&G core curriculum along with Gynaecological oncology SITM. Educational and Clinical supervision is provided, and the post holder will be encouraged to engage with the eportfolio to document training competencies. Day to day clinical responsibilities is seen to be a significant part of the training offered to Clinical fellow, and opportunities are taken for informal clinical teaching as appropriate. All doctors are expected to undertake audit and to make a regular contribution to the Departmental academic programme. There is an excellent Trust Education Centre including library facilities with close links to King's College London School of Medicine and Guys Cancer Centre. Part of this role is participation in clinical governance processes, patient tracking list management, Gynaecological oncology MDTs, complex case meetings and review of ward patients.

The postholder will be expected to participate fully in the department with opportunity to attend Gynaecological Oncology specialist clinics and gain additional skills while working closely with gynaecological oncology team. The post holder will contribute to consultant led clinics including

  • Rapid access cancer service clinics
  • Transvaginal scan clinics
  • Outpatient hysteroscopy and colposcopy clinics
  • Theatre sessions with oncology team.
  • Leading gynaecology MDT
  • Audit and Research opportunities

The successful candidate will participate in the 1:8 full shift rota providing cover for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a three-tier system. The consultant is resident from 0800 – 2200 to support high-quality care and outstanding training opportunities in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Applicants should have completed MRCOG Part 3 with commitment to gain specialist skills in gynaecological surgery and oncology and be registered with the GMC.
