You'll be responsible for:
Managing the operational financial management systems and manage all aspects of the project finances.
Supporting operational financial management.
Ensuring good cost control and cost management behaviour on projects. Promote good financial disciplines (oracle coding, understanding of schedule of cost components).
Investigating opportunities as well as high risk and material financial issues, or problem areas, on the projects. Support the proposal and development of solutions and options to resolve / progress concerns to a satisfactory outcome.
Statutory accounts preparation.
Assisting with the yearly Mace audit, client audits and tax returns where necessary.
Communicating and reporting of key information to programme team and JV.
Adhering to the programme finance policy.
Liaising with commercial teams, treasury and purchase ledger to establish robust accounting processes for expenditure on a "cost recoverable" project to guarantee application costs are auditable by the client to ensure there are no disallowable costs which cannot be recovered.
Assisting Mace tax team with statutory financial reporting.
Supporting treasury with submissions for VAT returns.
Completing the month-end reporting and produce financial reports.
Managing the oracle accounting system as the Finance Business Partner.
Managing the programme bank account.
Managing individual accounts for the JV and Mace for staff and other charges.
Issuing invoices and credit notes (as necessary) for the works to the client.
Oversighting of payments for suppliers and subcontractors.
Liaising with the finance department to ensure finance arrangements align with requirements.
Reconciling various balance sheet accounts, as well as sub ledgers.
Reviewing and reporting overheads each month and accruing costs where necessary.
Internal, external and client audit requirements.
Facilitating collaboration between various teams through sharing information and collaborating on decision making.
Amending, maintaining and reviewing of project financial plans, budgets and forecasts on oracle cloud.
You'll need to have:
Experience in joint ventures and cross company accounting.
Working knowledge of budgeting, planning, forecasting and management reporting and analysis.
Expertise in accounting software systems.
Highly IT literate (Excel).
Degree in finance or accounting or other similar, recognised qualification.
You'll also have:
Commercial acumen and understanding of NEC contracts.
Ability to identify, manage, and implement process improvements.
Knowledge in oracle accounting software and systems.
Ability to create reports and project statements.
Used to working with multiple disciplines (e.g. commercial, project controls).
Higher qualification such as chartered status.
