The Role
As our HR Advisor (FTC), you'll be at the heart of our people function, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues on a wide range of HR and employee relations matters. You'll take the lead on complex casework including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and sickness absence, ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally sound approach.
Working closely with the People Business Partner, you'll support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational culture. You will also pay a key role in delivering manager training and contributing to people projects within the company along with a group perspective.
This is a hands-on role that offers broad exposure across the business — ideal for someone looking to build on a strong ER foundation while stepping into a more strategic and developmental space.
What You'll Need
- Significant experience of dealing with people issues including disciplinary and grievance and capability.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Legislation and HR Best Practice along with the ability to put this into practice.
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills and active listening skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across the business.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A good ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
- High level of trust and integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
- A genuine values champion who will demonstrate the behaviours that underpin our values.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ideally, previous experience in a unionised environment.
- CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Decision making, evaluation of risk, sound judgement and problem-solving skills
