The Role

As our HR Advisor (FTC), you'll be at the heart of our people function, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues on a wide range of HR and employee relations matters. You'll take the lead on complex casework including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and sickness absence, ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally sound approach.

Working closely with the People Business Partner, you'll support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational culture. You will also pay a key role in delivering manager training and contributing to people projects within the company along with a group perspective.

This is a hands-on role that offers broad exposure across the business — ideal for someone looking to build on a strong ER foundation while stepping into a more strategic and developmental space.

What You'll Need

  • Significant experience of dealing with people issues including disciplinary and grievance and capability.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Legislation and HR Best Practice along with the ability to put this into practice.
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A good ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • High level of trust and integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • A genuine values champion who will demonstrate the behaviours that underpin our values.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ideally, previous experience in a unionised environment.
  • CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Decision making, evaluation of risk, sound judgement and problem-solving skills
