Planning Managers

Our client is a forward-thinking UK homebuilder committed to creating sustainable, high-quality communities across the Midlands. They are seeking two Planning Managers, one for East and the other for West Midlands, to drive all project-specific planning activities from land acquisition and site promotion through to delivery, ensuring each development progresses efficiently and reflects the company's vision for thoughtful, long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement planning strategies for newly acquired and existing sites.
- Project manage the planning promotion of sites from inception through to delivery, including the preparation and timely submission of planning applications.
- Lead on Reserved Matters applications, Section 106 negotiations, and the discharge of planning conditions and obligations.
- Support the promotion and delivery of strategic land sites to sustain long-term regional growth.
- Prepare or assist with planning inputs for land bids and acquisition appraisals.
- Manage external project teams, including consultants, planning advisors, and legal representatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Manage project-specific planning budgets to ensure best value.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of, and compliance with, relevant company policies, legislation, and planning regulations.
- Operate with autonomy while contributing to a connected, collaborative planning team across both regions.
Qualifications & Experience
- RTPI-accredited degree with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
- Chartered Member of the RTPI (MRTPI) or working towards Chartered Membership with a clear commitment to achieve it.
- Solid understanding of both immediate and strategic land planning processes.
- Proven experience managing multiple complex projects and stakeholder relationships.
