Job Summary

Big Kids Little Kids is a private day nursery who are looking to appoint a child centred, friendly Deputy Nursery Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, conscientious and experienced practitioner to join our nursery to work within the nursery. They will be key in providing care and education for a group of children, liaising with parents and who will provide high quality child care.

The successful candidate's daily roles will cover all aspects of daily care and education including:

Understand and fully implement the nursery's policies and procedures.

  • Provide high quality care and activities for children which recognise both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe and stimulating environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Oversee the nursery in the absence of the nursery manager.
  • Be a nursery key holder and available out of hours to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications (Essential)

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an early years setting.
  • A minimum of a full and relevant level 3 qualification in Early Years.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Confidence in communicating with parents/carers, building positive and trusting partnerships with families.
  • A willingness to learn office duties as well as routines within the rooms.
  • A clear DBS check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to £13.70 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
