Chuggers Day Nursery and Preschool is a warm, family-run setting in Taunton, offering exceptional childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We also run a holiday club for children aged 5 to 8.

Working closely with our sister setting, Choo Choos Day Nursery, we share good practice to ensure the highest standards of learning and development. Our beautiful, traditional environment follows the Curiosity Approach, with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and child-led exploration.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager in ensuring the smooth, effective, day-to-day running of the nursery. You will play a key role in staff leadership, administration, and maintaining high-quality childcare provision.

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with daily operations
  • Leading and motivating staff, ensuring high standards of practice
  • Maintaining excellent quality care and education in line with the EYFS and Development Matters
  • Supporting with marketing, administration, and Ofsted compliance
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Education
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Experience working with Ofsted, ideally including involvement in inspections
  • Full-time availability all year round, Monday–Friday between 8:00am–5:30pm
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Previous early years leadership/management experience (desirable)
