Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Support the head chef in cooking and serving dishes during service hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Participate in meal preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
  • Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Contribute to menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas based on culinary trends.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
  • Strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Culinary experience is an advantage but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining high standards in all tasks.
